Esteem !

What is Self-Esteem?

The term self-esteem is a recent addition to our language, yet it has become a term that is heard and spoken in our daily lives. Before we define it, reflect on the following questions:

  • Do you ever think that you do not have any self-esteem?
  • Do you ever wish that you had more self-esteem?
  • Do you ever compare the amount of self-esteem you believe you   have to the amount that you believe others have?
These are the three most common pitfalls in thinking that blocks a person's ability to be self-aware, be confident and feel in charge in their lives. If we answer 'yes' to any of these three questions, we arethinking in a way that keeps us defensive mode disconnected from who we really are and our own limitless potential. When we commit to uncovering the true, strong self which lies within we begin to realize that being stuck in this questioning creates a roadblock to success.  Esteem

As you begin your journey to the real self, know that you may become 'hyper-vigilant' or 'over-aware' about your own self-esteem and you may start to ask the three questions above more frequently. Catch yourself and stop it! Such thoughts are a trap that will keep you stuck and hinder you in looking at yourself in a new way. In Esteem!, you will learn more about becoming an observer of your own thought processes, which in its proper time and place can help you remain unstuck. For now, however, commit to not putting yourself down in regards to how you feel about yourself. Only then will you begin to uncover the real you who lies inside.
